Algonquin Area Public Library and Writers Group Announce 2025 Summer Writing Workshop Series

ALGONQUIN, IL – The Algonquin Area Public Library, in partnership with the Algonquin Area Writers Group, is excited to announce the return of its annual Summer Writing Workshop series. This highly anticipated event, now in its third year, will take place on consecutive Thursday nights in July, offering aspiring writers the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, published authors, and experienced writing instructors.

This free series is open to both adults and teens, including high school and college students, and provides an invaluable resource for writers looking to refine their craft and explore different aspects of the publishing world. Attendees can register for any or all of the sessions, which will be held at the Algonquin Area Public Library.

2025 Summer Writing Workshop Schedule:

  • Thursday, July 10 | 7–8:30 pmThe Truth About Publishing with Bryn Donovan, Berkley Publishing author

  • Thursday, July 17 | 7–8:30 pmThe Roots of Worldbuilding with J. von Tobel, fantasy author

  • Thursday, July 24 | 7–8:30 pmSeries Publishing as an Indie Author with Charli Rahe, romantasy author

  • Thursday, July 31 | 7–8:30 pmThe Art of Graphic Novels & Comics with Art Baltazar, DC Comics author and artist

Registration is required but flexible, allowing participants to sign up for individual sessions or the entire series. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
