To the Family of Thomas “Tom” Yucuis, the Butcher on the Block Team, and the Community at Large

On behalf of the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce, we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of Thomas “Tom” Yucuis, founder and owner of Butcher on the Block. For 25 years, Tom and his family have exemplified the very best of what it means to be local business owners. Through unwavering community support, generous sponsorship of youth sports, and continuous contributions to nonprofit organizations, Tom, his wife Jill, and their daughter Brynn Zimmerman have made a profound and lasting impact on our community.

Through genuine community connections, generosity of time and resources and donation and sponsorship in support of so many worthwhile organizations over the years. He leaves that legacy with his family.” said Greg Urban, Executive Director of the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce.

Tom’s commitment to fostering a strong, vibrant community was evident in every endeavor he and his entire family undertook. Butcher on the Block has been recognized with numerous awards from the Chamber, and Brynn’s dedicated service on the Chamber’s Board of Directors has further strengthened our relationship over the years.

We know that Tom’s loss will be felt by all who knew him—his family, friends, staff, customers, and the countless individuals whose lives he touched with his generosity. As we mourn this tremendous loss together, we encourage everyone in our community to join us in surrounding the Yucuis family with love, support, and gratitude for all Tom contributed to so many.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tom’s family, the dedicated team at Butcher on the Block, and everyone affected by this news. We stand ready to honor Tom’s memory and support his family in any way possible.
