Annual Bii Hair Salon Holiday Open House tradition: Toys for Tot

‘Tis the season for tradition!  Sociologists say traditions and rituals are the things that bind people to one another and create stability within a culture.  This fact is not lost on the family that is Bii Hair Salon in West Dundee.

Each November, the Bii team and their family of clients gather together to support and celebrate the national U.S. Marine Corp Toys for Tots campaign. The Marines have run the foundation, a top-rated charity, for just short of 70 years.  Bii got on board three years ago, and has no intention of stopping. Toys for Tots is a Bii Hair Salon tradition.

Toys for Tots campaign kickoff will be part of the salon’s annual Holiday Open House to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 19 at the salon, 1955 Huntley Road, West Dundee.

The salon will be collecting new, unwrapped toys, and routinely fills its collection box four or five times over. Please note toys must be new, and unwrapped, so as best to match them to age group and participant.

For every toy received, the donor will earn entry into Bii’s drawing for an energy-efficient blow dryer and a gift certificate. Additionally donors will receive $5 off any service for every toy donated. Five percent of all retail purchases the day of the open house also will be go toward purchase of toys for Toys for Tots.

December 9 is the final day for collecting toys.

As a special thank you, the first 50 people who arrive will recieve a swag bag filled with samples and promotional offers valued over $100.
