The Algonquin Police Department is proud to be involved and lead the way in the state of Illinois with our involvement with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics (LETRSO).  This 501c3 charity is Law Enforcements primary philanthropic program and I hope that you consider supporting our local and state athletes by partnering with us and consider a donation through sponsorships.   

Some facts about LETRSO:

  • The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the single largest year-round fundraising movement benefiting Special Olympics Illinois. 
  • The Torch Run has two goals – to raise money and to gain awareness for the athletes who participate in Special Olympics Illinois.
  • The Law Enforcement Torch Run includes an annual intrastate relay conducted by officers representing every branch of law enforcement within the state as well as our federal partners. Approximately 3,000 officers carry the Flame of Hope nearly 1,500 miles, running through thousands of Illinois communities via 23 different legs (routes) to its final destination – the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games in Normal.
  • In addition, the Law Enforcement Torch Run hosts a variety of annual fundraising events including Polar Plunges, Dunkin’ Cop on a Rooftop, Tip-A-Cop events, Truck Convoys and Plane Pull events. Since 1986, the Law Enforcement Torch Run has raised more than 1 Billion dollars while increasing awareness of Special Olympics Illinois athletes and their accomplishments.

The following Sponsorship levels to consider for advertising your business on the Torch Run t-shirt either statewide or within local regions are as follows:

Presenting Sponsor: $50,000- All shirts (est. 42,000 shirts with your name and logo on it)

Gold Sponsor: $25,000-All shirts (est. 42,000 shirts with your name and logo on it)

Silver Sponsor: $15,000- All shirts (est. 42,000 shirts with your name and logo on it)

Bronze Sponsor: $10,000- All shirts (est. 42,000 shirts with your name and logo on it)

Venue Sponsor: $5,000- 3 Selected Regions (McHenry, Kane, Cook or Regions of your choice)

Region Sponsor: $2,500.00- 2 Selected Regions (Regions of your choice)

Leg Sponsor: $1,000- 1 Selected (Region of your choice)


All sponsorships interest must be submitted prior to December 6, 2024 but payment of sponsorship can be made this year or early into 2025 for the 2025 Sponsorship Level selected.
