DESCRIPTION:Community Unit School District 300\n\nWork-Based Learning (WBL) Advisory Board meeting. \n\n\n\nBelow will be some general information about our WBL Advisory Board as well as the agenda so you can determine if this is a good fit for you or not. \n\n \n\nThose interested in attending can go to this link or you are welcome to just email us back to RSVP. Please note that this meeting is being held at A-TEC Ambulance located at 2125 Point Blvd\, Suite 200 in Elgin.\n\n \n\nThe WBL Advisory Board has been meeting 3 times a year (fall\, spring\, and summer). The fall and spring meetings are hosted at our high schools so you can tour those facilities and the summer meeting is either hosted at D300's Central Office or at a willing local industry partner's facility. The purpose of this advisory board is to continue building and scaling opportunities for our students throughout our k-12 education system to explore\, plan\, and develop skills leading them to being career ready. This can include supporting events such as guest speaking\, various fairs\, etc... to more intensive experiences like job shadowing\, mentoring\, and/or internships. \n\n \n\nWe will be celebrating our nearly 40 students who participated in various paid and/or for credit internships this summer including a First Responders experience where students were exposed to both the fire department as well as police department provided by the Alignment Collaborative for Education (ACE) as well as other experiences. Come learn more details about this summer as well as what is planned for next school year!\n\n \n\nMeeting Agenda\n\n5:30 to 6 PM - OPTIONAL informational session to learn more about D300's Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Pathway programs.\n\n6 to 6:30 PM - Tour of A-TEC Ambulance's facility\n\n6:30 to 7 PM - Dinner\, celebrations\, and District updates\n\n7 to 8 PM - Collaboration on work-based learning development\, problem solving\, and feedback
